Sacramental Preparation

Sacramental Preparation

Within our faith and particularly within our work in the atrium, all that we do is preparation for receiving the sacraments of the Holy Church, for deepening our understanding and appreciation for these great gifts, and most especially deepening our experience of sacramental participation. Here I will only outline our direct sacramental preparation for each of the Sacraments of Initiation as well as Reconciliation. For more information on how these and the other sacraments are presented and explored within the context of the atrium, please see our Atrium Theme page on Sacraments

Baptism:

Most children coming into the atrium have already received the Sacrament of Baptism. For those who have not, as we work through presenting this Sacrament we modify our language to indicate, "When you receive this gift" as compared to "When you received this gift."

When children come to the level 2 or level 3 atrium without this sacrament, we spend more time exploring the Baptismal promises, since the children will be making those promises for themselves.
